I wondered about making holographic promo badges, and thought I'd do a google to see whether a 3d model had to be 3d printed first. It seems not, all that one needs is a series of angled still images.

It might be an idea for a cool Orbiter fan club badge. I'd buy one, if it were a reasonable price.

Yeah:tiphat: That link is to the first company I saw. As it gave a fairly easy intro I thought I'd put that up as a link. Of course it would be wise to shop around, though the prices quoted for a reasonable size image was pretty good. I think badges could be got for around the 10 dollar mark. As a novelty they would be babe magnets, maybe not politically correct but even I, a saint, have my darker moments.;)

thanks!
this will be some thing cool to buyas a gift or something like that.
to be honest ive never seen a 3d holo badge, have you, and what does it look like?

I guess it would look like the safety elements on money or CDs, only bigger. And more decorative.

There's a gallery of some of their posters at that link I gave. Take a look at the shoe hologram and the one of the girl blowing a kiss. Much better than the holograms on bank cards.

I want one of the almighty Probe!

I don't know, I would rather have a jacket and mission patch of a sort.
