News Apollo 11 + 45 years

Very nice. It actually sort of is shaping up like a regular NSF launch thread. I've been playing through Apollo 11 using AMSO for this week (for the first time.)

I made a Apollo 45th picture using cut&paste graphics from the internet and from the Orbiter Apollo addon. I added extra stars, nebula's and put a big Earth in there.

SiberianTiger, Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

Perhaps MH17 was setup as a false flag to distract people from the anniversary of Apollo landings this week..... :shifty:

Just joking, But in any event MH17 has distracted the media from reporting on Apollo 45th ANN events.

Guess we will have to wait another 5 years, I think the 50th should be pretty big.

Happy Birthday to the mission that carried the most lonely man who ever existed, Michael Collins.
He stayed for 48 minutes alone in the CM hile on the Far Side, without its teammates on the ground, without any communications from Earth. Just him and the sounds of the vents.

Happy Birthday to the greastest achievement of Mankind. God speed, Columbia :salute:

one of the (in my opinion the) greatest moment in human history (yet) :salute:

planning to release my tribute video at 20:17:40 - on the second 45 years :D

That module looks quite nice in the image. I only have Mr Drake's one to use. The illustrated module I nickname constellation.

Yes it sure is quiet. Nothing in the Daily Mail newspaper about it.
