hey guys, I'm flying the apollo 11 mission from the Amso addon, for the second time. 1st attempt failed due to the AP switching off and me screwing up the earth orbit insertion. (flying the saturn manually is hard, the first time)
I find this quite a challenge compared to cruising around in the XR2.. I did the 1.5 orbits around earth before TLI, and arrived about 3 hours earlier than the original apollo, I don't know why, just figured this route out with transx. I didn't look to see if I was on a free-return, so that's something to improve on the next time.
Anyways, I'm now approaching the circulisation burn in lunar orbit. I'm doing this thing step-by-step, lot's of quicksaves so I can go back when I wasted fuel on a faulty burn. I'm still learning, bear with me..
Eventually I want to try doing the whole thing in one go, but there's so much little details to figure out at the moment, so I'm doing it this way.
still, I am impressed that they could pull this off back in 1969.

oh, I realize this isn't really the right thread for this, but it's a challenge anyhow..
I'm gonna try finishing this mission without asking more questions on the forum. searching the forum distracts me too much anyways because I tend to run into interesting things wherever I look in the forum, lol. great forum, great simulator. thanks Martin for enhancing my life!
