Well as asked above are you going to view the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis on the STS-135 mission the last of the shuttle program. There's a 75% chance I could go,I only live 180 miles south and can still see it, but I want to go in person.

Not unless they delay it to a Monday or Tuesday launch. Even then only a very small chance I would be able to go.

I already took off work and made hotel reservations. I am planning to arrive on the 7th and stay for a week and a half. Hopefully it manages to launch in that time. If it doesn't it will still be a nice vacation.

I have bad luck:I am on a class trip to an island(Wangerooge)
I'm there from the 3rd/4th to the 10th/11th, so I won't see it. Not even from there(no Internet )
I would go there if I could. And I have no money to get there... :P

If I can't go take some pics for me lol.Is there a chance you can travel down south a little to palm beach county?

Well, if all goes well, I will see it. But until I know for sure its only a 'maybe'.

I suspect all of the good viewing areas are going to be rather crowded for this launch seeing as how it's the last. I watched STS-132 from Jetty Park just outside of KSC and it was hard enough then to find good seats.

Not a chance - wrong continent, unplannable trip.

In the unlikely event that I were to go see it (very very unlikely, but still possible) - how close do you have to be to hear the SRBs at a decent volume, and really get a feeling for how awesome the STS is? And whatever that distance is, are there decent viewing sites that would not be too crowded?

Maybe about 15 miles away.Orlando might be a best bet.

Alas, I don't have the budget to cover the 7283 km that separate me from KSC... :(

I lost the causeway lottery, so no for me. If I had never seen one before, then I would do what ever it took to see it.

For those who are planning on making the trip, you are in store for one heck of a show.

I used to live in the area, so I know my around. It's only 2 hours from here in Tampa (probably 5-6 hours during the week of the launch, though).

I'm going to miss this one too. :( My DG-S is in the shop.

Well, I voted and said maybe, but i'm actually going!!! Viewing the launch from a boat 9 miles away from the pad.

I would -LOVE- to go for this historic moment, however for the cost/benefit ratio I would rather spend a week in Cuba. Can't wait to go back there.

Maybe I'd wake up early to see the launch live on the internet (or the TV), but that's about all I can do.
