Took my family to the local air show at Nellis AFB today. We had a good time although the way they organized the parking was just plane dumb.

But I took a pic I'm really proud of with a crappy camera. Hope you all enjoy.

Just a 5 yr old Olympus 3.2 megapixel. The darn zoom doesn't even work half the time, but it worked this time. :camera:

Here's another but it's not as good. This one is of a legacy fly by with incredibly, a P-38 Lightinh II, F-86 Saber, F-4 Phantom and A-10 Thunderbolt II.

That's a good shot, too, but you can definitely see the pixellation around the edges of the aircraft, due to the low res. But you managed to get belly detail even though the planes are back-lit, and the sky isn't washed out. Your technique works.

It was! They had people park at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway which is adjacent to Nellis and bussed everyone over to the base. It took 2 hrs in line to get on the bus.

I do have a couple more pics but there not nearly as good.

The best part about the A-10, I think, is the design process.

"Okay, guys, we have this big honkin' gun, and we want to make it fly. Make a plane around it!"
