I considered taking part there, but:

Why should somebody vote for me? (Most important question)
And why should I consider flying on something, that has until today not even passed its first flight test and is way behind schedule? (OK, standard situation for astronauts)
And why should I be "payload" for months? (Astronauts at least have a bit of authority there)

Since 5 people will finally be selected to fly (22 will only go into the final selection process AKA Space Camp), I doubt that we can get more than one of the community even into the final selection camp. If you want to do all this, I support you and give you my vote. Who wants to be the German candidate?

And for me..all my friends know that I was saying as a 3 year old kid that I'd like to be an astronaut and that I am kind of a space nut so they know how important what would be for me..
And since I am not rich as Richard Garriot (and it is most like I will not be)
and since my crappy country can only argue on tits, religion and war while 'demonic' country like Iran launches it's own rockets and satellites in space
so no space program here, and no chance that Croatia will be part of ESA this is maybe my only chance to soar into heaven

and thanks for your support..I am in excelent body shape and not so stupid according to other people so I think I have at least some chance

My wearing of glasses would be the only bad point for me, aside of this I am in great physis today (but could be better). Usually glasses of such a strength would be no problem - but here I suspect influence by demonic PR powers.

I think I will rather beat Stefan Raab next year and then buy my own spacecraft.

(AND you are right... its 22 candidates flying into space. But only 5 from Europe. Becoming ESA astronaut would be simpler for many European OF members - since many also have the academic background.)
