I just downloaded the SpaceX add-on and it totally gave me the idea to film a SpaceX launch cinematic. However, my MSI Afterburner doesn't work on Orbiter. Does anyone know of any screen recorders I can download for free that will allow me to make a good quality Orbiter movie?

(Also, I'm not sure if this is in the right place. It might not be. So if not, can a mod please move it to the correct place?)

Fraps will do it. The free version is more of a demo. Want the full working version, you will have to pay, as you do with most things.

I, on the other hand, found CamStudio to be useless, as it wouldn't record sound as mother board didn't have a loopback in its sound chips. I'm currently using BB FlashBack Express.

I know a youtuber who uses a free open source program called Taksi to do all his StarCraft 2 recordings. All his videos are very high quality (1080p), so it seems to work well. I assume he uses the development branch since the stable version is over 6 years old now.

I also know he uses the x264 codec.

If you want to take a look at one of his SC2 videos where he's recording with Taksi, you can have a look here:
