An idea that poped into my mind just now, that I was boosting the XR2 into orbit: is it possible to add a thin, black outline around the HUD elements? Changing colours is fine to an extent, but always having to change the default green to a more visible one in the light-blue environment gets old fast.

Here's what I mean:

This should make it clear what I mean. The antialiased HUD looks brilliant and I love it, but it makes reading it a bit harder than it used to during atmospheric flight.

So, is it possible?

you can press ctrl+h (or is it alt+h?) to change the hud colour, I do that all the time. hope that helps.

The original poster already said that he (or she?) wanted something more than different colours for better visibility.

I agree. Even with a red HUD, I still have to crouch down and look up at my screen from a weird angle to be able to read the altitude and velocity (darned LCD screens :P.) The third example in the image looks great: not too imposing but easily visible.

Changing the color of the HUD just doesn't cut it sometimes. I like the third one also. Major improvement over the first example shown.

I'm a guy, I just like anime. :)

Anyways, glad to see I'm not the only one with this minor issue. :)

i may just be masochistic, but it seems to me that a "real" hud might be hard to see sometimes, i guess it doesn't bother me that it looks too bright/pale. i just change colors. please make the outlines only optional as i like it without outlines!!! maybe make it transparent though, or harder to see!
