Beyond Augustine II

Dennis Wingo posted this missive recently in On-Orbit entitled Beyond Augustine II. It is very thought provoking and I think he has the right idea. Was hoping to start a discussion on this among the Orbiter Community. There is also a link to this article on NASA WATCH. There are several thoughtful comments posted there as well as my own some-what-thoughtful response.

NASA has chosen Ares to be part of Constellation which is about going back to Moon and go beyond. For now NASA still has the go to: end the Shuttle flights late next year and continue with Ares I and Orion development. The final go will or either won't be taken be the congress. Anything else is speculation.

That's the idea, to speculate.
I 'm willing to be Ares I gets scraped and Ares V gets altered pssible down graded to Ares V lite or shuttle side-mount. So there is room for input.
