I just saw the photos on Spiegel Online, I can't wait to see the new "Apollo&Beyond" exhibition, when this Buran analogue has finally "arrived" there.

A soyuz TMA capsule replica for sitting inside it would also be cool there - "working close together" gets a new meaning inside such a capsule.

Also, even if it is not THE Buran, it is still as close to the real thing as anything except a pile of junk can get.

....even if it is not THE Buran, it is still as close to the real thing as anything except a pile of junk can get.

 I had to read that twice! One man's "junk" is another man's treasure. I'll take any space junk I can get.

Stay away from Russian space junk, if you know what is good for you. A few people in Russia and Kazakhstan have found out that spent Proton stages inside the mildly guarded drop zones are not only precious junk, but also life-threatening toxic.

I wish somebody could make a expedition into the first stage drop zone and document what is left there. I wonder if the Russians clean the drop zone after each flight?

Hummmmm if I know Russian's the precious junk out weights the life-threatening toxics. Much like the cooper is in high demand here. I've heard stories where people are stripping cooper out of live electrical distribution lines to resale the metal..
