I happened to be reviewing this presentation, and page 52 made me smile.

Anyone want to hazard a guess on the scenario needed to recreate that exact screen?

I really don't know if I want to know what went into making that image. Almost looks like someone left on .01% thrust while on 10000x.

It's just a simple matter of viewing a trajectory from a different reference point.
A less extreme example:
LeftMFD: trajectory relative to the moon.
RightMFD: same trajectory relative to Earth.

LeftMFD trajectory relative to dominant body
RightMFD trajectory relative to another moon of the system
