SDK Question converting from .tex to Tif

Hello,

I would like to convert the texture of planet to correct some little things under photoshop
But pltex only convert from another source to tex and not the inverse.
Is there any way to do it ?

If I am correct, PLTEX files are not a single image, but a collection of image patches, packed in a certain way. PLTEX is an Orbiter specific format.

I have found no way to extract data from PLTEX.

Then I'll try to make my own extractor tool

There is some tool, but I don't remember where I got it. But it extracts the tex file to thousands of bmp files.

it would be cool to find it. renaming tex to dds gives me only one patch.

It splits tex files into multiple dds files.

Here's another tool that I made that splits .tex files into their seperate .dds files. From those, you should be able to convert to another type a lot more easily:

The question Was not easy in fact.

There were no tool to do such a thing. text file are only used by orbiter.

I've then created this summer my own tool to extract tex to tif.

It has been posted for a while, but I forgot to close this thread.
