Crashing when enabling Orbiter's local light sources

My first post, if this is completely wrong, please accept my apologizes.
When I activate "local light sources" in visual effects on my Orbiter launch window the program starts to load then crashes. It runs fine if local light sources is not activated, but then my lights just look stupid.
Do I need to change something else in the program or on my computer to have this activated?
If I can fix this it would be great, but it is still fun to use, even without it.

Hi,

I used to have the same problem and it turned out that Orbiter crashed because I used the onboard graphics chip on the motherboard. After getting a new graphics card it worked.

What kind of GPU do you use? I suggest you should update your graphics driver.
