Hey, I've recently gotten back into orbiter but for some reason, and it only happens occasionally, I crash into the planet when using imfd. It never happens when i travel to out from a cb to a moon, but there has been a few times when a planet looks like its soi has increased or something as I sink right into the planet after I burn. Is it a problem with the new Imfd or is there another reason that would happen. I cant remember if there is something missing from what i used to do differently as i didnt have the problem before. I'm clearly burning away from the planet but after the burn i fall in.

If you are crashing into the planet you are leaving from it's because you haven't set the ejection time (TEj) correctly. In the Orbit Eject program, adjust the TEj until the green line indicating the ejection point matches the line showing the tangent.

Thanks i forgot about that, that was really stupid, should have seen how much i was stretching the orbit.

Been there, done that, more than once. That's how I learned (finally)!
