I doodled this for something unrelated, but thought Orbiter fans might get a kick out of it, too:

Not that you could likely get a Soyuz to an orbit this high, but, uh, this one's got a new type of engine that runs on Good Times. With a specific impulse of Awwww Yeaaaah.

I like the Soyuz. It's got heart.

Cool. :) Did you use a pen tablet for this? If so, which one?

Yeah, just a regular Wacom tablet.

I'm busy with real "career" artwork these days, but when I've got some freetime, I'd love to whip up a slick interplanetary cruiser to give all my Orbiter comrades a badass ride so they can cruise the solar system in style.

Edit: For me it's all about grabbing onto the orbit of a planet or moon and then just chilling out there for a while, contemplating the grandeur of the cosmos while having a nice, relaxing float. I need a good ship for that and I wanna make one.

NICE!
It is really good.
And the humor too...

I see. I was just looking for one these days, and Wacom, while being top stuff, their products are pretty expensive. I found that Trust Wide Screen Design Tablet TB-7300, do you think it'll be okay for semi-professional work? Sorry for getting off-topic slightly, I hope you don't mind.

It should be fine - There's ultimately not much difference among tablets as long as you've got the art chops to know what you want to do. If it's just semi-pro and you're not going to be chained to it 10 hours a day, you can't go wrong with any of them as long as they're not too small.

/me buys.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity, do the Wacoms ever need re-alignment, so that the cursor actually lines up with the stylus, rather than being 1/2 an inch above and to the left of it? Or have they worked out some technological wizardry that eliminates this problem altogether? I'm only asking because I own a tablet PC, and the stylus practicaly always needs re-aligning...

Not really, I've never had to do anything to mine in the 5 or so years I've had it. I spilled coffee on it once, even, but after attacking it with a hairdryer and a day of waiting for it to dry it was as good as new.

The tablet is mapped onto positions on the screen, so whenever the stylus is a centimeter or so from the tablet, the mouse cursor is moved to the position that corresponds to it on the tablet. The mapping might move a little bit over time, but since they maintain their relative positions you'd likely never notice.
