General Question Darker seas & oceans

Is it possible(via config or something(I don't want to change textures)) to make seas and oceans darker? I think they are to light and I want them to be darker witchout changing tex files. Is it possible?

To my knowledge that is not possible. You might try disabling specular reflections. That will give your water a more uniform look without reflected sunlight.

Without specular textures I generally find that oceans look like big blue carpets and not... oceans.

For some reason, the specular effect of Earth's oceans in Orbiter 2010 cuts off quite close to Earth, creating this effect. Why does the cutoff of specular textures occur so early compared to Orbiter 2006?
