Thank you so much for updating the Delta II for Orbiter 2016.

What I like about this addon is the ability to input your own orbit parameters as well as let the autopilot do all the work up until SECO-1. This makes it look similar to the Falcon 9 addon.

Wow, I've been holding myself from installing Orbiter 2016 because of the incompatibility of addons but it looks like I finally have to try it.

Did a quick test and it's a solid add-on!
Great work :) !
Nice to hear some new sounds, and the on screen interface is great.

I know this is nitpiking so take it as 100% constructive criticism
- the ground textures are a bid too saturated, compared to Orbiter's default terrain. That breaks the illusion a bit as you ascent to orbit.
-the rocket textures could be a bit more detailed.

Hey folks, hope this is useful for someone. I needed a working Delta7326 to revisit the old "Genesis" mission as an excuse to play with LagrangeMFD (and do some chopper flying). As usual with Orbiter, one thing leads to another.....;-) I'll try and update some of the historical payloads in the near future.

@4throck - I'll see if I can improve the textures at all. The SLC17 particle streams could probably use a bit of work as well

Very nice, the Delta 2 is one of the most used rockets ever ! One of the workhorses of the US space program.

Thanks Brian! One of my favorite add-ons is back! :D

The only thing that I noticed was that the Spin-Up/Jettison label says 2nd stays, but I believe this should be 3rd stage.
Of course no big deal, just my 2 cents!

Yes indeed, and still at least one or two interesting historical payloads that have never been made as an add-on for Orbiter.

Quick question: is it possible to make SLC-2W which is only one launch pad compared to SLC-17's two pads?
Certainly possible, but time consuming. Also, all the interesting interplanetary missions went from the Cape as far as I know, so not much motivation for me. I'll put it on the list for when I want to do some 3D modelling. Maybe someone else would like to have a go?

Doh! Thanks Derk, I'll fix it. Incidentally, all my code for the Delta2 payloads would have been lost if you hadn't rescued my harddrive - thanks again!

Just seen a bug with Delta7920 SRB jettison, I'll do a full update on OH soon. In the meantime, here is a patch with a hi-res Delta2 texture and a modified SLC17 ground-texture with a better colour match(I think). Any better?

Cheers,
Brian

Update 171104 on OH:
Fixed Delta7920 SRB jettison bug, edited HUD display, hi-res Delta2 skin, changed colour balance on SLC17 ground.

Could a Delta III be made from this? It was a modified Delta II with a new hydrolox upper-stage and enlarged RP-1 tank of the core stage as well as 6 inches larger GEMs (40 vs 46).

The code for the delta7920 would be quite close to what's needed. If someone wants to do the meshes/textures for the fairings and upper stage, I don't mind tweaking the core and GEM's and making a .dll for it :-)

edit:-----------------------------

Oh wait, it has a different core too? Well I don't mind doing the programming anyway :-)

Hi DaveS,
grabbed the file, I'll see what I can put together :-)

Let me know if you need any help with the technical specs.

If you have the thrust/mass/isp values to hand, that would be useful.

Thanks DaveS, I'll get on it :-) It's a pretty obscure launcher - only three launches as far as I can see. Was it designed for a special requirement?
