A near-future ESA launch system designed for DeltaGlider IV.

Required add-ons :

- Velcro Rockets (by Sputnik)
- DeltaGlider IV (by Dansteph)
- UGCO (by Dansteph)

Install : unzip the file in your "Orbiter 2010" folder.

UPDATE v1.01 :

- Focus should now be set correctly on the DG-Launcher on the beginning of the scenarios. There was an error in the .scn files before, that sometimes caused crashes. Adds 2 new .scn files, you can delete the old ones.

Have Fun !

Doesn't seem to work with the D3D7 client. Confirmed on 2 different machines, 2 separately constructed installations. Pressing "o", the countdown begins, engines fire up to 100% but the launcher just sits on the ground and doesn't move.

Machine 1:
IBM T42 2373-K1U
Windows XP Pro 32-bit
1.7GHz Pentium Centrino
2.0 GB RAM
32MB (shared) ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 @ 1024x768, tested 32 and 16-bit modes

Machine 2:
AMD Athlon 64X2 4400+ Dual Core @ 2.23 GHz
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition
4.0 GB RAM
MSI nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB OC Edition 1680x1050 tested 32 and 16-bit mode

**NOTE** Seems to work fine for me on the standard Orbiter 2010 installation/graphics.

Does the standard Velcro package work with D3D7 ?

Test scenario opens correctly, and I can set the azimuth without a problem, but when I press O to initiate the launch I get a CTD. Other Velcro scenarios work fine.

EDIT: got it to work but did absolutely nothing :idk:
Very nice addon, thank you! :)

The exhaust texture is set by Velcro Rockets ;)

Except at liftoff (in real launches you see a huge fireball, look at Delta IV launches), and in low (<10km) atmosphere it's rather realistic for a LOX/LH2 engine. The main problem is the "edges" of the textures, it looks like a rectangle. But I remember Martins posted a sticky about exhaust problems (Orbiter 2006, for which Velcro Rockets has been released) in the "Addons Developpement" forum.

I've got an idea that could simulate the fireball at launch, but i'm not sure if it could work. I'll try.

I haven't been able to use it, Orbiter locks up on the load page when loading White_al2_logoDGL.dds

Any help?

I got it fixed. Turns out I was still on the beta version of Orbiter. I updated to 100606 and it works wonderfully. One question: I took off The left booster and launched it. I expected it to spin out of control but it launched smoothly and got me into to orbit. How does that happen???

AFAIK it's based on velcro rockets and has an autopilot. It's parameters are in the scenario file (don't know for sure, have never used velcro before!).

Just wanted to say, Awesome addon. I've spent some time tinkering with it and have managed to attach several types of boosters to it. All seem to work reasonably well, but I tend to get the best results with the Energia Boosters.
I was considering uploading the files but thought I'd better run it by you first.

Here's some screenies:

Personally I think the RSRM's look totally ridiculous strapped to it, but hey they get the job done.

I believe there's a parameter in the velcro config file that when set applies the thrust from the boosters through the vessel center line. This may be why you are not spinning wildly out of control.

Updated to v1.01

- Adds two new .scn files. Fixes a ship focus problem, you can delete the old files.

Nice. Dead useful! Thanks!

Just one thing: I can't seem to change the launch azimuth. I type into the entry box, press return, and nothing happens.

Edit: it was just me, all fine now.

Edit 2: Errr... just got into orbit in the ISS scenario. All my crew were dead 'cos of GLOC!
