Hi All,
I've been doing some simple scenario editing, where i have docked two DGIV to a Vespucci D .. All looks lovely & all the NAV & XPNDR frequencies are working fine & I can flit from dock to dock no problem.

The trouble is of course, the DGIV, like the XR2, XR5 etc, supports a LIVING crew.

I like to have my DGIV's cold & dark when docked, i.e... you have to go through the complete start up process.

Problem A ... if i leave my DGIVs for too long, when i 'select ship' to one of them, it reports that my pilot is DEAD because of cold & lack of oxygen. - Fair enough.

So i edit the Scenario to say NO Pilot or crew present. Of course when i then select the DGIV to start it up ... i can't, because it says NO pilot present!!

Problem B then, is HOW do i get a pilot in there, without having to re-edit the scenerio file? i can't 'transfer' a pilot from Vespucci as it doesn't support UMMU.
So IS there a way to make it, so that when i select one or both of the DGIV .. it will 'bring' a pilot with me ... or at least allow me to 'select' a pilot to 'come on board' somehow?

Cheers
Al

well you could put the DGIV in safe mode, this will turn every thing off and remove the crew or you could use UMMUFA and make the Vespucci D UMMU compatible so you can transfer the UMMUs to that while the DGIV is not in use.

UMMUFA - Haven't come across that .. i shall look it up
:-)

Safe mode would be easier, though UMMUFA is not exactly hard work. And is a more permanent solution.

ok im about to make one of the most noobish comments possible

Safe Mode?

taken from the onboard check list:

@title: Safe mode / unload crew
------------------------------------------------------
For long trip when the DG is
docked to a bigger ship or on
ground you can unload the
crew and put you vessel in
safe-mode. (sleep mode)

In this mode temperature check
are disabled so you must use
it if you want to launch the
DGIV with a rocket or attach
it to a mother ship that do
launch or reentry.

-Lower panel:
-All buttons off apart from
cabin air recycling main buttons
-Upper panel:
-close all airlock door
-epu button on
-selector on epu/both
-gen1 and gen2 off
-apu button off
-all power button off apart
from lifepack power

The crew will now unload.

To wake-up again and load
the same crew, start the apu
on upper panel and follow
cockpit startup procedure.

@white:end of checklist

by the way the checklist is such a nice feature especially since you can add and edit the pages like you wish, i think i have more than 20 pages :)
