After not having time to do much with Orbiter in the last 4 years I've just downloaded it again and am having problems. I have a Samsung laptop with AMD dual core and Radeon graphics. Framerates and graphics are not an issue. My issue is that whenever I open a window that has a frame, I cannot close it. For instance, if I open the window that lets you select your craft, after I press "OK" it will switch to the selected craft, but the window doesn't go away. Same for the main menu. If I bring that up, it has no option or way that I can find to close it. Using Windows 8 because, well... that's what I have.

As far as I recall, somebody has had a problem with no custom buttons appearing in the title bar of Orbiter dialog boxes on Windows 8. Currently I can't find that thread (probably due to its title not related to the issue), so I don't know if and how it was resolved.

If there's an option to disable visual compositions when you check properties of orbiter.exe file, enable it and try if it helps.

I'm using Windows 8, and the close and help buttons on dialog windows are invisible for me, too. It's still possible to click on where they should be and still close the window, though.

Not trying to bring back the dead, But I also have this problem. The windows have no close and help buttons in the left hand corner. You know, like the ship switching window. but I can still click there to close. It's just mildly annoying. Running on windows 10.

This thread was the only thing that came up when I googled the issue, therefore, I give you life!
