Software Does Orbiter work with Windows 8?

Thought there would already be a post about this but couldn't find one. Does Orbiter 2010 work with Windows 8? Mine doesn't, it just crashes when it tries to load the Launchpad.

I can run it in Windows XP compatibility mode. Just wonder if it should run in Win 8 natively?

Yes. Perfect, without any problems. Installed all the correct .dll files? Have you tried a clean install?

Also confirmed - I've been running it since platform preview days, no problems.

Try a clean install, no add-ons, to start with, and then build up one add-on by one.

Windows 8 doesn't give me any problems.
I run it without a compatibility mode.
If it crashed on the Launchpad, there's an add-on that clash with Orbiter.

Did you use an .msi installer or just the .zip? I don't know if that would make a difference. The fact it works under XP compatibility doesn't sound like a conflicting addon

Yeah - for it does too, without any restrictions.....
(Including Dan´s christmas editions btw).
At least on my Acer Iconia Tablet....

Yeah a fresh install (but into a folder with the same name as the old install with the old install still there in a renamed folder)

Perhaps I have to install to to a default location?

It seemed to work the first time I installed it and displayed the Launchpad but I closed it down after that and it has not worked since.

I think I will reinstall again from scratch incase I copied something over to the fresh install (which I may have done since that was the plan) and forgotten I did it.
