Is there an addon available that is enhancing the earth's cloud textures ?
i really have some great earth textures, but those clouds are kinda nasty..

If you are using 2006 you could try this :[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2782"]OrbiterClouds(aka Nebo)_0.3[/ame]

not sure if this works in 2010 but I've used it in 2006 to generate a cloud texture that had a hurriance in it. Looked amazing from orbit -> [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3271"]Tutorial - Generating A Realtime Cloud Texture[/ame]

Sure:

I've used this as well. Hurricane Ike, I think, was the one that was in mine.

**EDIT** Yes, it was Hurricane Ike, back in September, 2008. Screenshot attached.

@Rtyh-12 Thanks Buddy :salute:
@n122vu That addons seems great, but i don't understand those insctructions..it would be great if someone makes a video tutorial..

The default cloud layer is looking pretty bad when viewed from a low orbit. I have been thinking about building a lvl 15 cloud layer for the Orbiter. The idea of building the cloud layer is pretty simple. There would be one global 4096x2048 cloud map containing 8-bits per pixel. Each pixel would be an index into a texture array of 256 textures where each texture would be 256x256 pixels in size. This should allow to build a lvl 15 cloud layer with 24MB of memory. I am not sure is this ever going to become true but it should be possible. I have been looking for a raw material for the texture array but found nothing.
