Project ETS-Evolved Transport System

Cargo family

This project keeps looking better and better, I can't wait to try it out!

A thought: Since this is looking like it'll be such a nice general purpose LV, it might be nice to have a no-fairing version (or an option to select no fairing, etc, etc) for launching particularly large and unusual payloads.

...Such as the ETS! It seems a no-fairing version is already guaranteed. ;)

Actually for now no-fairing version is only for Vertigo or Prometheus shuttles and both of them have theirs own LES stages. But "No-fairing" version won't be a problem I think.

Also largest possible fairing is 6 m diameter x 12 m lenght + some room is nose cone

It's around 30 tons to LEO.
With "Sirius" high energy upper stage (far left on the last picture) it can throw ~2.5 tons to Earth-Jupiter Hohmann orbit.

A no fairing option is implemented for all the launchers already actually
And for those who want to know, this is the current list of options for the fairings:

Code:
;This line decides what fairing diameter we're using
;0 = No fairing at all
;1 = 5x5
;2 = 5x8
;3 = 6x7
;4 = 6x12
Fairing = 3

awesome!
This will be one of the best rockets on Orbithangar!

I want to inform that ETS Launch vehicle is close to release and Release 1 will be here shortly.

Themis launch vehicle is first part of ETS System.

- Rocket configurable via config file
- MLP (currently as cfg vessel just to have launch platform)
- IFP Navigator Probe (as sample payload)

Rest will be added in near future.

Thanks for feedback & stay tuned.
Loru.

Just launched Prometheus on one of your rockets and re-entered it a few orbits later.
Both flew really well.
Can't wait for the rest of it to be released!

Another one of my badly edited videos! this time showing the first implementation of the launch autopilot, there's still a load of work left to do but it's a start  and sorry in advance for the bad camera work

What's the story on the shuttles? Wasn't a cargo version in the works at some point?

That'd be the ETS-Vertigo Ark  I'm planning on coding both that and the Prometheus shuttle after I've finished off the launcher.

Sweet.

I'm looking forward to this launcher getting a good autopilot. Between that and the Payload Manager-based cargo system, we could finally have a competitor for Energia.

Why a competitor? The ETS launcher family will fill up the gap. Energia is excellent for big heavy payloads, but is overkill for smaller payloads, so these launchers will fit in nicely

ETS work continues: control panel for launch vehicle

And the panel is in Orbiter

Still need to make the displays and buttons work properly though :hmm:
