I recently got a new laptop, and before, I had a desktop with a keyboard with a number pad, which I used for the controls of the simulator. My new laptop does not have a number pad. Are there any alternative keyboard keys to do the same thing?

There are a bunch of topics about that indeed.

Either you remap the keys via the keymap.cfg or you read the manual of your laptop. You should have "fn" keys that when being hold down emulate a keypad on certain keys.
And of course you can always just get a USB keypad.
