Hey everyone!
My question is: How do you get from one moon of Jupiter to another? For instance, I'm orbiting Io now, how would I get to Europa?
Thank you all in advance for your help!

Simply said, by orbital maneuvers. Jupiter is like a small solar system, you have launch windows that permit you getting easily to another moon by a direct transfer ellipse, sometimes you need to do more complex maneuvers.

For example you can make gravity assists around other moons, for getting to a moon that can't be reached directly. Or you fly closer to Jupiter and then change your orbit towards the target. Or you fly far away from Jupiter, almost leaving the system, change your orbit plane and then do a return to the target.

Try to learn how to use IMFD. It is not so hard to learn and it has a lot of possibilities.
Here is a link to an excellent IMFD tutor...

Use this scenario by copy and paste it to your Orbiter scenario directory...
NB. Make sure you use the .scn extension for this file and save it to your scenario dirertory....

Now you will see in the left mfd window that IMFD is alredy setup for a course to Europa.
How do I set it up?
Very easy.

Press the MNU button (Left row, top button)
Press the course button Right row, third from the top)
Now press set
Press target
Enter Europa in the box
Press Enter and you are ready to go.
Press Orbit-eject.
Press the + button until you see the course text. The course is in white text and underlined.
Press PG and AB. AB stands for autoburn.
You will see a (waiting T- xxxxxx)
That is your count down timer. When it reach T-180 after two orbits around Io it will position the Delta Glider for the burn.
At T 0 it will ignite the main engines.
Watch the green orbit line matching the blue line.
The blue line is your escape line from Io to Europa.
Remember, when the Delta Glider leave Io sphere of influence, the mfd will change.
Press course button and press the scr button
Enter x in the box and your path to Europa will been displayed.
You probably will see the green line or circle do not match the blue line.
That is because of Jupiter gravity.
Press the AB button again to refine your escape path to Europa.
On the halfway mark you must do a course correction again so that the green orbit line match the blue line.
Open the Orbit mfd on the right side and change the reference or ref button to Europa.
Watch the red numbers at the middle bottom of the mfd.
It shows you the sphere of influence values.
When it reach G 0.50, change the left mfd.
Press MNU and then Orbital.
Make sure that Ref Europa and Tgt Ecliptic are displayed
If not press Ref and Europa in the text box.
Press AB and watch as the autoburn put you in a orbit around Europa.
Do this without accelerated time because you are on a collision course with Europa. The Orbital mfd will circularize your Orbit.

Good luck and have fun

Screamer: Better put your scenario into code tags, this makes it easier to read, etc.

Also I am no fan of posting such a complex scenario with a DGIV and the ISS (despite wanting to play around Jupiter) as help for somebody who just learns the basic maneuvers there. It is sure not meant unfriendly by you, but it isn't helpful.

Yes, you are right. I am afraid if I delete the ISS,IR and the Luna, it will cause a CTD. If he have a basic installment of Orbiter, the ISS, MIR and Luna vessels will not cause any harm.

And the best way to learn IMFD is to experiment with it. That is the way I learn it, and sure I do not know everything about IMFD.
Throw him in the deep side of the swimming pool and he will learn to swim....... :-)
But I see your point.

That is no problem, you just need to ensure that the vessels are not referenced by scenario data.

Sure no problem there, but if you throw him into the ocean, he maybe can't learn swimming fast enough before he drowns. ;)

Training scenarios should be concentrating on the lesson.

Yes man:thumbup: I was experimenting with TransX, so now I can fly throught Solar Sys, but now I'm learning IMFD. You can use TransX too but it's more difficult and for Advanced users of Orbiter.
Thanks for tutorial screamer:thumbup:
