But you need to have soviet sense of humour and perspective to enjoy some of them or get the highly-quoted puns.

What genre are you most interested in: drama, comedy, adventures, fairy tales, art movies, historical movies, or just some soviet vintage?

Soviet war dramas are very good. "Sud'ba chelovyeka", "Lyetat zhuravi", "Ballada o soldate" - for example. I like historic movies too - like "Aleksander Nevskiy", "Bronyesonyec Potyomkin".....
