Ive been searching for a good video editing program to organize clips of home movies and other projects...does anybody have any recommendations of open-source or freeware programs?

Ive been pretty disappointed with what Ive found on downloads.com

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Quite honestly, I find Windows Movie Maker to be perfectly sufficient for everything I ever need to do.

Yes. I also use it for my little videos.

Thanks so much for the input guys! I knew OF would be my best bet for good info. I'm gonna try those out when I get home tonight.

You don't understand: you're on OF now.

You can't go home again.

cinelerra is a pretty full featured one. learning curve can be a bit steep in the beginning though.

Windows Movie Maker is crap if you record long and high quality videos using fraps, and then try to make a nice video. It likes to crash a lot if you don't save a new project after EACH step you edit something.

You could try a demo for something like Vegas. Only lasts a month though.
