It was origionally designed by microsoft and played on MSN game servers a while back, then the servers shut down, fans of the game made their own dedicated servers and continued to inprove the game to this day, and new updates are still being released and the community is strong with loads of people.

IMO its a very good game, but like most MMO it takes a while to get good at it because of all the vet's and what not that just destroy the player without trying, but learning to play is very easy.

The commanding aspect of its good too, you can act as commander of your faction and mine helium 3, build outposts in different sectors, research new tech to help your fighter ships, etc etc and if you dont want to command, just point and shoot in a customizable space fighter.

Its a really good game, the best part is its totally free, and with it being origionally developed by microsoft, its a safe game and works on most low end computers (like mine)

Nice to see a bit of real physics in there as well. Might give 'er a go sometime.

EDIT: If you fancy something vaguely RPGish/spacey, I like Transcendence. Pirates, lasers and shipping offices. Cool!

Hmm... that Trancendence looks mighty interesting, i like the idea of space pirates will have to download it tomorrow at my 'post' (im on my crappy laptop at the mo)

Transcendence is a 2D game (it uses sprites) and it works just great on 6 years old laptop.

il have to try it, seen as i cleared my HDD on my laptop yesterday theres more of a chance it will work

Been playing it for like 3 hours straight... ITS AWESOME!

I love these old styled games tons of fun, with no stain on my computer system.
Thank you for the tip-off! :thumbup:

Now i have 3 games to choose from while i wait for my new pc (orbiter OFC! allegience and this! whoo!)
