Since we have the official server, and the challenge thread, i though that it would be nice to have a FSX general thread. So anything about FSX goes
:thumbup:

I've set up a flight plan that visits each of the 48 continental states. I turned on unlimited fuel, took off, and hit the afterburner. SLF to SLF in... a long time.

Yay for autopilots! :lol::cheers:

I am currently in Paris on the 7th leg of an around the world tour with the PMDG NGX 737-800. The tour took me so far from Chicago, to Boston, up to Gander, Greenland, Iceland, Dundee, London, Paris. Now I am heading to Rome, then east to Greece, Isreal, Dubai, India, then up through Eastern Asia, Russia, cross over into Alaska, then down the west coast of the US, then back to Chicago.

Yesterday into Paris-De galle, no precipiation (using real world weather with Active Sky Evo), but almost no visibility. Flew ILS CAT III with a DH of 50 feet AGL and using the AIII HGS mode. Beats autoland any day. As far as FSX goes, zero vis IFR landing is about as good as it gets.

I took quite the trip in a Cessna 172... I don't feel like listing all the stops, but I'll map it out for you guys... just give me a while.

That was the fun of it. Plus it let me land in some places otherwise... restricted. :P

Cuba?

What are some good destinations to fly to in Alaska/Canada? Fallen in love with the Grumman Goose and would like to try landing on some small lakes or something.

What should I do in FS2002?

The first thing I would recommend would be to get FSX (or Prepar3D). While FSX is still a hot mess, it still is a vast improvement from FS9 let alone FS2002, and for anyone interested in flight simming, the only way to go is with FSX (or Prepar3D).

Is there a UMMU equivalent for FSX? Some of the airports are nice enough that I have the urge to get out and walk around them.

The guys at FTX have it. You walk around, even has nice sound fx to go with it.

The guys at FTX have some airports (like some of their small strips in Australia), are so detailed, I have seen youtube videos of guys taking FSX cars and driving from a house, past the post office of a town (sound fx included) drive into the airport and into their little prop plane, and fly off. Very cool.

Search FTX or ORBX, I am sure you will find some.

I can't recall what they call their program, BOB I think it might be called. THere is also a program called Walk Around, or you can use a program called Ez-Dok that lets you walk around your airplane, or if you want wander off around the airport if you want.
