God 'will not give happy ending'

And again:

If people stop to believe in god, they don't believe in nothing, but in any number of things. That's the chance for prophets, and they appear in droves.

Religion is people's opium, it eases their suffering

Should we give kids methadone, so they don't take another drugs, or better bring them up not to take ones at all?..

Instead we had the telescope, massive development of water power technology, and advances in agriculture.
We should thank the Church for it's short hands?..

Face it, the basis of christian beliefs was written three millenia ago by a bunch of bigoted, backwards men and has next to zero relevance to today's world. Also adults with imaginary friends should be evaluated for mental disorders.
By Jove, you've figured it out! Why, with this idea we could circumvent the first AND second amendments in my country without repealing them! Quick! Someone forge a birth certificate so that this man can be president! Clearly, Obama isn't following the shortest way around the track. We can round up all the christians and get them "the mental help they need," AND because it will give them a record of mental health problems, they'll instantly lose the right to keep and bear arms for the rest of their life in most states! Brilliant! You sir, deserve the nobel peace prize.

since the Church had a monopoly on teaching they could have destroyed ALL kind of science with no problem at all. Instead we had the telescope...
Yeah, the church really looked after Galileo...

Well, it is not only religions, it is any kind of nonsense people tend to believe in. Especially always in a bad future and the end of the world. Prophets are still almost anywhere (politics, science, media, church...).

That graph is a bit out of date, isn't it?

The current estimate is 33,290,297.
