Problem Graphics problems

I get so very strange graphic glitches around the ISS in my XR5.

The stars disappear and go all black. There is an odd brown texture that extends away from the ISS in multiple directions. The earth turns pure white.

Do i have something installed wrong?

Any help figuring out what it is?

Does it happen only in the XR-5? Can you reproduce this with the Shuttle-A or stock DG?
How about with the XR-1 or -2?

Can you try it with MIR?

My guess would be a graphics setting, I cannot reproduce what you are describing.
