Good evening all,

A brand new member who has been trying to enter the world of Orbiter 2010.

I have in the past enjoyed Shuttle Simulator by Virgin and Apollo 17. Having looked at the latest incarnation of a Shuttle Simulator, to me it looks like a copy of the original Virgin produced simulator with just a few updates and a hefty price tag.

Quite by chance I found Orbiter and for some months have enjoyed virtual space, even when I tend to crash and burn regularly; but hey.... Its only a simulator, I never die or cause others to pass on from our world.

My problem, I had been having a few problems having downloaded the XR5 from Dans Orbiter website and eventually read the instructions properly, only to find that I have been trying to use outdated versions of the required software interfaces, Namely: UCGO 3.0 + UMmu 3.0 - 2014 edition; I have been trying you use a previous edition.

No problem as Dan has a superb and simple to navigate website, until I click on Download of the aforementioned UCGO 3.0 + UMmu 3.0 - 2014 edition. Over 4 days of trying using both IE and Chrome, in around 60 download attempts I have managed to succeed to get only part of the 192 meg, well anything from 22 megs up to 183 megs, before it becomes an error and stops.
My speed is upto 38 meg download; average in each try has been 1.8 meg speed, which should be around 2 mins to get the file.

You can imagine I am becoming a little downhearted as it appears that despite much web searching Dans is the only place to download UCGO 3.0 + UMmu 3.0 - 2014 edition. Other pages just point you back to Dans pages.

Please can anybody assist me so that I can get back to enjoying Orbiter, which is an enjoyable challenge alongside my long love of all things Flight Simulator?

I just checked the d/l and I had no problem.

I will put it in my dropbox. Standby for a PM with the link.

A true Gentleman & Scholar

Please accept my sincere thanks for your great assistance to a brand new member. I look and see that this is a friendly and helpful place to join in and learn more.

You have even educated me to Dropbox which is a pointer in the right direction when sharing things, even with family members, photos etc.

I shall look forward to getting up and running in the morning.

Sincere regards,

John:tiphat:
