Launch of Antares 1 successful
The launch of Antares 1 was a great success. The launch was right on schedule, at 17:11 GMT+2. A couple of hours later, Antares 1 performed the TLI burn and 4 days later it performed a LOI burn, and with that it successfully achieved an orbit around the moon.
Antares docked to MSSEU
Antares 1 successfully docked to the MSSEU on Friday 27th 2010. It was a flawless approach and docking without problems. Right after Orlando -Antares 1 commander- confirmed that they were docked, Mission Control gave the start-up command for the station to wake-up. The astronauts had wait one more day before they could enter the Station. On Saturday 28th 2010, Mission Control gave them a Go for hatch opening. When the crew opened the hatch, Orlando said that when he comes home he hopes it also that clean. The first task of the crew was to make sure that the the communication between the station and the Antares spacecraft and the station and Mission Control worked.
Flight software for Albatross completed
The flight software for Albatross is now fully programmed. Albatross mission managers are saying that the software is now being tested and prepared for the real flight.
ULA confirmed that the first stage of the Delta II rocket -that will be used for the launch of Albatross- is completed. On Sunday, the boosters will be placed in place on the first stage.
