Have You Loved Space All Your Life........

Have You Loved Space All Your Life. If Yes, When U Were A Kid Have You Been Called A Nerd?/Been Bullied for SUPERIOR SMARTNESS!!!!!:):):):)

Yes And Yes

No. I call myself a nerd and I'm proud of it / Not really been bullied much, but a bit when I was younger.

Yes I have loved space all my life, however i'm a bigger kinda guy, even in school the bullies didn't wan't to be messing with me.

There was a girl in school who was 16 when I was 26 going to college, she decided to mess with me by saying she got a 95 in thermodynamics whilst I scored only about a 30 on the same test...

Needless to say the moral of the story is don't mess with me. (Although it ended with probation by the Dean, it was well worth every second of hanging her over the 2nd story balcony of the student union)

I think I've only really loved space since I found Orbiter around December of 2004. I've been 'super smart' for my life, I suppose, but never really bullied because of that. (though occasionally bullied for probably no reason at all)

hence why I got a 30 on that test. I lost most of my math skills. I was looking at a post on M6 awhile back and said, "how in God's name did I know the answer to that question".
I used to do that math in my head now it's books and massive studying just to keep up. I'm even considering a refresher course just to stay up

I've always loved space. I was born just weeks after Star Wars made its premiere, so, for me it's always been front page, and a common theme in the fact and fiction of my life.

I was always the first to know all of the planets, I've stood on the shuttle landing strip at KSC when I was 3.

no and no

When I was a kid in the 60's, every kid was into space. Didn't hurt being an Army Brat.

YES and YES :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Can't remember a time in my life when I didn't have a passion for Space. All my life I always followed the Space program closely.

And Now Your A Fourm Mod. Anything can chane a life

Well... If I tell people that I am a mod at a place for a space flight simulator (and usaly keep bragging about how cool orbiter ist and what you can do with it and the endless possibilities... argh... must... stop... now...) they tend not to say "Wow! You are totaly not a nerd for beeing that" :P

I have to admitt, that I am at the age where people don't call me that anymore, but you observe a face progression as following:  -> -> -> :hmm: -> followed by a "a-ha" and :boredom:

I've actually been more interested in mathematics and physics in primary school, I got interested in cosmology later. My interest for space exploration picked up around the end of middle school, when mathematics was starting to get ridiculously sophisticated compared to what I needed for physics and cosmology got boring.

I don't know when it began, but I think it was the fault of Hubble or the Shuttle-Mir missions.
