Hi folks . Just signing in and saying hello.

Real name Dave . 49 years young :) - Merseyside UK.

I first tried Orbiter a good few years ago but it nearly sent me insane - The only thing that remotely came to achieving orbit was my PC :)

I decided to try again a few days ago and have been reading a lot and figuring stuff out.

I'm not giving in this time.

Regards.

I wasn't aware there was another kind of UK.

Sometimes its just cold or wet, we get a choice.

Welcome Oscar!

Oh come on, we had a lovely spring. At least three days of sun which is good going for the UK!

:welcome: When I first played orbiter I had the exact same issues with getting into orbit, it took me many months to get it right. The tutorials will help and have a look at addons like [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6036"]Themis-A Launch Vehicle 1.0[/ame] which will do the hard work for you. By watching them you can get an idea of what's required for those addons that need a little manual help.

Oh dear, more scousers. :welcome: to the forum!

When eye wear a lad, we used ta dream of 3 days a sunshine !!!

Welcome back on board even if thy be from wrong side o' pennines

Thanks for the welcome guys . Much appreciated.

I can pretty much get to an orbit anytime .. Aim . Full power . Keep going :)

I definitely lack any understanding of exactly where I'm gonna end up . but orbit achieved non the less - I am working on this (small) issue :).

My main interest at the moment is multi player . or how to run a server and keep a simulation running long term.

garyw - Yeah we had a nice few days and my dog enjoyed the extra "outies" but my sunscreen has now been swapped for a parka :)

Xyon . I was born in Lancashire . in 1974 for some daft political reason . We were moved to Merseyside at the same time Warrington was moved to Cheshire . I still have the same WA12 postcode !! Figures?? :)

Thanks again for the welcome folks . I'm here to learn and visit the stars.

Dave.

You were born for political reasons?

We are the only place in the world, that has all 4 seasons in the same day. :hello:

LOL @ Xyon :) .. My mother did promise me I wasn't an accident so I guess so :)'' .. Pity the suckers that vote for me :)

@ Kendo .. Yessir . but it sure makes you appreciate the sunshine :).

Well today has been a fantastic learnin' experience ..

successful launch into a roughly circular orbit .. EVA and deployment of satellite .. EVA crew member recovered and a very cool re-entry.

I missed KSC by some 3000km and ran out of fuel over the Pacific ocean.

One thrilling ejection later and a chute landing I can say "I been there".

Now onwards and more practise.

Need to do .. learn orbit changing and syncing with other vehicles.

@ All .. thanks again for the welcome friends .. This is one outta this world forum.

Enjoy your weekend.

Regards.

Dave.
