Question Help me locate a power supply

I want to find a power supply for my keyboard. The keyboard operates just fine with the power from the USB port, but if I want to use the USB hub that is built-in to it, it needs an external power supply. The keyboard manufacturer does not seem to provide a power supply, but they do provide the following specifications:

The following is the specifications for the 5V DC adapter:

• Voltage: 5V DC minimum 1A
• ID (inner diameter): 1.10mm +/- 0.05mm
• OD (outer diameter): 3.50 mm +/- 0.15mm
• Using an incorrect adapter may result in damage to the keyboard which will not be covered under the warranty policy. We recommend that you consult a specialist to make sure you buy a correct [adapter] with the listed specifications.

I did a google search but couldn't find what I'm looking for. I'm also not sure what they mean by "minimum 1A". (other than the obvious) But is 1A enough to power devices? Should I get 2A instead? 5A?

Ummm,

Im pretty sure that 1A means one amp, ie the current that the adapter transforms to. You dont want anything above that current level, or you'll probably destroy the circuit in question.

ie P= I*V

Power (energy per time) = Current * Voltage

There might be a very small chance that the keyboard might work on 0.8 or 0.9 Amps, but generally you will need to go with 1 exactly.

5V DC and 1A is standard for pretty much all the smartphone chargers today, so that will be easy to find. I'm not so sure about dimensions, seems a bit small to me, but I don't usually work with that kind of stuff.

As for the current, the circuit will draw amperage that it requires, 1 A is just a maximum current that power supply will be able to give without producing excessive heat.

3.5mm CPCs are also pretty common - but the inner Diameter is too low compared to the norm:

Not sure, who the hell decided to use such a rare connector.

But a quick search in Google gave already many suitable examples.

The device will only take the current it needs so a 5Amp psu will only provide one amp if asked. A 0.5 amp psu will never be able to provide 1.0 amps however.
It like having ten pound in change in your pocket. You will still only pay the asking price for a pint. If you have the right money, you will get a pint but if you only have 75 pence.........

A 2 Amp PSU can do the job of a one Amp, not the other way round!
