Greetings!
I installed Orbiter a couple weeks ago and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!. Seriously, successfully landing a DGIV on the moon for the first time (after a hundred or so botched attempts involving forceful reentries during launch, unplanned trips to Alpha Centauri or slamming against the lunar surface at a small fraction of C) has been one of the most satisfying experiencies i've ever had in a simulator. I ever phoned my mom to tell her!
However, i'd never been able to make it on my own. Trial and error is a nice approach, but with a learning curve as steep as Orbiter's, things can quicky get frustrating. If it wasn't for the help i've found in the threads of this forum and the many tutorials throughout the web, i'd have left Orbiter after the first dozen failures, missing all the good this sim has to offer.
So this first post is part greetings part thanks to the Orbiter community, specially to those involved in making this wonderful yet complex and potentially frustrating sim a bit more accessible to newcomers.
Again, hello and thanks!.
