Gaming Hielor's Minecraft Server

I just got a great idea for a combination orbiter/minecraft movie :D The title will be Exodus. Ill post a basic plot line when I get off of work and see what yall think. I think it would be a great community project. I have the full Adobe CS5 Master Collection and software to compose original music for it.

eccentrus, go for it. If this will help you out then why not?

but as hielor said, its slightly quicker to mine stone and the stuff is the most abundant block (except for air) in minecraft so theres no shortage of it and most people would prefer to mine it.

If some how you could modify that machine to include a tnt block every 4 blocks or so then all you need is to set it off and you have instant cobble drops. That would be more efficient.
Note that you can also make a stone generator in a similar fashion to a cobble generator, by ensuring that the lava goes into the water from the top...

Wouldn't that be less efficient, since TNT doesn't drop all the blocks it destroys?

Given how easy/fast it is for sheep to regrow their wool (and they actually regrow the correct color) by eating grass with the latest minecraft version, I'm considering removing SheepFeed (where they grow back white).

Any objections?

nay, none from me.

You wont get all the blocks converted into drops but it's much quicker than manually mining each of them out. So less clicking you have to do :)

Also usmc, you've perked my curiosity. I wander what the movie would be.

For usmc, This is what I'm looking at for seguso's underground station and obviously not as extensive. It would be a massive upgrade and very cool but time consuming.

The only problem is, I need his permsission to alter the place and I haven't been able to talk to seguso in over a month. Anyone know whats up?

If anybody can contribute, it'd be greatly appreciated :)
A trip to the public tree farm will give you plenty of torchmaking resources. You can get easily two stacks of logs from there, which is an ungodly number of sticks and enough charcoal for several stacks of torches. :)

It would be feasible the introduction of snow golems as a contribution to the torche's work?

Sorry for the delay. I worked a double last night lol.

As I said before, The title would be Exodus. The basic story for the film (which needs to be fleshed out more) would be similar to an older scifi series called Earth 2 and Terra Nova. Earth has less than 50 years of useable oxygen left. The Greenhouse effect has run ramant and is no longer reversable. The arrival of a mysterious object dubbed "Probe" transmitting coordinates of an exo-planet is dubbed a miracle and a religion is formed with Probe as their God. A message was decoded from the transmission written in what appears to be latin. The message says "Contact lost, What is your situation?" The flightpath of Probe was tracked and it is discovered it was on route for 10,000 years. It is decided that this planet is the only hope for humanity's survival so a colonization program is launched. Cyrogenics has been perfected and is now common place for long duration space flights. The first mission (the one the movie is centered on, using possibly a DGIV or XR-2) is launched 1 year ahead of the colony ships (XR-5's or Arrows) to make the first landing and prepare for the arrival of the colony ships. During reentry (as with almost all scifi movies and series lol) something goes wrong and the expiditionary ship is forced into a crash landing. The crew survives but the ship is completely destroyed. At first the planet is almost like an eden. Flora and Fauna are very similar to earth's. Ruins are dicovered and it appears that the senders of Probe are long gone. The ruins seem to be blasted apart. A day passes and there are no signs of hostile life but the crew cant shake the feeling of being watched. Primitiave shelters are constructed and food gathered. That night the crew is awakend by an explosion and discover the a massive crater outside the shelter. While they are investigating they begin to hear a hissing and turn to see a green, tall, four-legged creature approaching them. Not sure what to think, a crew member approaches and finds out the hard way what made the crater. They take off running through the woods.

I need to work on the story more tonight while I'm at work. I'm planning on adding exactly what happened the sender's of probe (ancient humans who we would call atlantieans). The story would continue through the fight to survive, the fight against the creepers, and the constuction of an outpost for the arrival of the colony ships. What do ya'll think so far?

Well, is there any harm in leaving it in?

Not particularly, it's just one more component to potentially have issues, and one more thing I need to keep track of updates on. If no one's using it (and now that I'm a sheep farmer, I can't see any reason to use it), might as well take it out.

I'm all for removing it. As you implied, one less point of failure. And one less component to manage.

The abandoned mine I've discovered in the lands to the southwest of the commune is HUGE. Its also located in a huge cavern system under the east edge of the coast, complete with huge waterfall that I can only assume is 'seawater' pouring in. Pics soon. Going to be exploring these caverns for a loooong time.

I was wondering if we shouldn't merge TL8's Orbiter-Forum City rules post with the first post in this thread so people are aware of how things work within the city. Thoughts?

Not yet anyway. It isn't complete. There is a link to my post in he first post however.

I've linked to it from the first post, but I can include it.
