Wireless(in the Marconi sense) listeners in the UK of a certain age may remember when this was first transmitted.

BBC has decided to have a second version, we shall see how it goes.

Shame Peter Jones has gone, he had the perfect voice. Good comedy actor too.

Hey, I hadn't even realised that the trilogy now has six parts. I must have stopped after book four or five. (I gather this isn't actually by Douglas Adams).

I think I prefer the original BBC series, but it's cool that they got Steven Hawking as The Book.

Didn't really follow the books, think the radio series set a standard that was hard to follow.
When the BBC does something like that they are very hard to beat.

Havent heard the new series yet.

Agreed, the original BBC series was way cooler than the later remake.
It's no coincidence that David Dixon (Ford Prefect) is on my avatar :)

Interesting to see a follow up!

I come from the 80s TV series (I have it on DVD) and have heard bits of the original radio series. (And there was one of those groovy black plastic discs, which I heard once).

I also read the books for 3 & 4, but personally I think they went on a bit too long! (Agrajag was the only character I really liked.)
