does this happen to anyone else? even before reentry the auto piolet randomly spazes out and starts jerking the ship it random directions? and is there a beter was to hold AoA for an XR class vehicle?

I have this problem with the MFD. All you have to do is use the attitude autopilot in the XR spacecraft series and set the AOA to 40 degrees. No need for the MFD's autopilot.

Holding AoA manually is pretty hard... you'd fail so much it would get boring

I was wondering the same thing about attitude MFD is there a button to hold the aoa? Or some kind of set way of doing this?

Thanks

The XR manual explains it better but XR vessels are equipped with an attitude hold autopilot that can maintain EITHER the ship's pitch OR angle of attack. You can switch between either one and select precise values for each. Select either mode by pressing the small gray square next to the word "pitch" displayed on the autopilot screen.

Also, the vessel configuration file lets you change the pitch/AOA/Bank angle autopilot limits up to a maximum of about 85 degrees before weird things happen. Default maximum is only 60 degrees. Very handy for extreme crossrange maneuvers on reentry.

The autopilots make the XR vessels very easy to reenter.
