Hello dear Orbiter Forum Community.

I have seen lately that some people moved the planets for some Orbiter Mods.
What I mean is, they , for example, moved the moon near the earth so you could get there easier .
I would like to move all the planets more near to the earth so i can see them from the Surface and get to them easily.

I would appreciate help or even a Modification, Tool like that!

Mr Burke

Well - moving planets and moon closer to Earth will result only in less fuel usage. Difficulty level will be the same.

And it may make things worse... Have you tried to "fly" to Jupiter or Saturn? If you can get close with IMFD or TransX, they are pretty easy to not miss.

Well i had success landing "flying" to Mars (i also landed" .
But most of the time my Cursor disappears for an Orbiter bug and i restart the Program,
or i miss the moment to open the retro doors and "brake"..
Well thanks, I will try TransX and IMFD .

But STILL, i would really like to know how to move them.
Is it done by changing the .cfg 's ?

Thanks

If you want to reach other planets quickly, try things like WarpMFD on Orbithangar...

edit : rather than using (relatively weak) retro thrusters, turn retrograde and engage full main thrust.

And don't worry, you can still quicksave if your cursor disappears. Focus on simulation and press ctrl+S.

But most of the time my Cursor disappears for an Orbiter bug and i restart the Program,

As long as your restart and select (current state).scn you'll be able to carry on from where you left off

Ok... But my Question was how to move the planets to be near eachother.
i mean really, i dont just want to get there fast ;)
I really appreciate your help, i already have RWARP , which actually is really annoying because you don't really have that amount of fuel at all.

Myl ast Question.

Is it POSSIBLE, to move the planets or to Create NEW planets, and if yes, HOW?

Thank you

If you have Orbiter 2006, in the Doc directory, open the Orbiter.pdf and go to page 97.(22 Orbiter configuration).
The ones you should read are 22.2 (Planetary systems) and 22.3 (Planets).

If you have Orbiter 2010 open the OrbiterConfig.pdf (located again in the doc directory) and read it.
