How many Astronauts have you met?

Ive met the Apollo 16 crew, John Young, Charlie Duke and Ken Mattingly, Michael Collins and Al Worden. All a great guys, very nice, Mr Collins even gave me advice on how to get into the air force and what to do in difficult situations and all.

I've met none personally, but my dad met Duke once at a presentation Duke was giving and managed to get me a signed copy of his autobiography Moonwalker.

I've met several myself in my many travels to JSC, KSC, and other places.

I've met John Young, Jim Lovell, Buzz Aldrin, Al Bean, Jack Schmitt, Gene Cernan, and MANY from the space shuttle missions.

Ken Mattingly (an Auburn Alum), Buzz Aldrin (at a book signing), Col. Jim Voss (an Auburn Alum and former AE faculty), Steve Hawley (a KU Alum and new Physics faculty)

:hotcool: War Eagle and Rock Chalk!

i ment the pilot on apollo 15. he was the one that stayed in the command module in lunar orbit while the 2 other astronauts went down to the surface forgot his name though

Sam Gemar, great guy, he took particular interest that day when we to the KSC to us, because my father was in the Military, so was he. Charley Bolden met my Dad at the Naval Academy with his Son, and Charley Remembered my Dad when I went to talk to him at Legoland in California, he Remembered my Dad after many years. And my Dad almost flew on the Space Shuttle Endeavour, NASA was considering him for the Astronaut Program of 1994. And My Grandpa, who recently just died, worked on the Apollo program, so we got to met John Glenn, and John Fabian.

I met Story Musgrave once at KSC and when I was little, before I can remember, I met my cousin who was the second person to use the Manned Maneuvering Unit, Robert Stewart.

Zat, Im guessing your Last name Is Steward? Or is he on your Moms Side?

I've met quite a few, worked with Mike Foale a few years ago and I'm working closely with Piers Sellers at the moment. My favourite by a long way is Andre Kuipers though, he's a funny guy.

I had the chance to (perhaps) meet Christer Fugelsang... but I didn't... wasn't as space interested back then...

ive met helen sharmen as she is a friends, friends friends second removed cousin auntys sisters daughter... or somthing like that.

Let's see, there was that time when I met one.:blahblah: Then I also met another:blahblah:... and that all adds up to 0!:P

when i ment Al Worden i was 10 the biggest questin i asked him was could the saturn V rocket be able to launch the shuttle into spacei got the now obvius to me answer YES.

EDIT:i was thinkin that the shuttle on top of a saturn V addon for orbiter would be a cool addon im going to put that as an addon request

When I was younger I met Franklin Chang. He was making a presentation on what happened to Challenger, and I recall the explanation on SRB design vividly. We were a group of kids paying lots of attention to a man who was like a rock star.
