Hi, I've been playing with orbiter for a few years now but only recently have I started making rendezvous with ISS and I'm frustrated about one thing, in the linear RCS mode I have up/down/side control but I do not have forward or backwards control. I understand this is because I'm using a keyboard without an additional numberpad, I was curious to know if anyone had any ideas about how I can finally get this to work.

I'm getting real good at meeting up with the ISS, getting close, but I can't even try to dock without this control.

Any suggestions?

Maybe getting a USB keypad?

Of course an external keypad would do you good.
Meanwhile you can activate the Rcontrol (Remote control) module.
After activation you can access it through CTRL F4.

Thank you!

I actually was able to improvise a lot without it but this will make all the difference in the world! Again, thank you so much!

Seems like there's loads of options for USB numpads on Amazon, either sub $10, or sub $30. Or you could get a slim full keyboard either wired or wireless.

If you are used to playing without a numpad ... playing on a real numpad will blow your mind!!

Seems I made a "thank you all" post that wasn't approved by the mod yet.

Anyway, I do thank you all for the suggestions. Here's what I came up with, the Rcontrol panel is perfect, I use it for the forward/back control and the joystick for the up/down/L/R maneuvers. It's a bit of work switching back and forth but the end result is......I CAN DOCK!

I really appreciate everyone's answers.

mind = blown

I got the numpad last night and was able to do in under an hour what it took be several hours to do last Saturday.

A game changer indeed.
