Hello,

I am new to Orbiter as of today. I am mainly interested in Soviet/Russian spacecraft. What are the basic files I would need to install to recreate launches and missions from Vostok through to the current Soyuz missions?

My apologies if this question has been asked and answered before.

Welcome aboard. Not sure about the Vostok Missions, but you can download the ISS and Soyuz Launch Vehicle created by Thorton, from the Hanger. The ISS pack contains the surrent Soyuz TMA and Progress TMA vehicles. I am a great admirer of Thorton's work on Russian spacecrafts, but I am not sure if he has done any work on the Vostok and VosKhod programs.

Or you can download the complete Space race scenarios from Afronaught :

[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=531"]Space Race Complete[/ame]

He mentions the following add ons in his readme file:

REQUIRED ADDONS:

Brian Sikkema's V2 Addon
Gene A. Kennedy's Thor Addon
all the Russian Space Program addons by Manuel Amorim (McDope)
John W Kaanios's Buran 3.0 Beta
Project Mercury 4.60
Gemini Titan 2 Version 4.20
Rodion M. Herrera's NASSP 5 and 5.13
Shuttle fleet Version 3.5
Arianne 4 addon
David Henderson's Arianne 5 Version 2 Beta 3
Jeffrey Simpson's Shenzhou
Atlas Centour Addon
Kevin Martin's Vandenberg Complete
Earth 1962
Earth 1975
Thomas Ruth's Kourou Launch Facility
Project ISS 11A
David Hopkins's ISS Intermediate stages set (All 6 Sets)
Richard Croy's Mir Core V1.07
Christoph Kopp's ISS First 3 Modules

-------

But you will have to evaluate how effective or realistic these vehicles are yourself. I have been planning to try them, but currently having too much fun with the Shuttle fleet, recreating all the STS missions. :)

That addon is so outdated...
There is a Vostok addon by igel (and many more). Excellent one, [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5126"]Vostok[/ame]
As for Voskhod, not sure.
Soyuz, [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5160"]Soyuz 7K series[/ame] , that'll give you quite a few Soyuz missions of the soviet times.
Thorton's ISS will do great for current-time soyuz and progress missions.
As for the Mir, [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2536"]Mir Space Station v.1.3[/ame] (you will need the scenarios patch)
