Hi everyone,
I'm not new to Orbiter application and after several years I'm trying now to reconnect to this world especially to enjoy AMSO scenaries.
When I launch the app though, I get this nasty message "Hardware Initializing 3D environment using a hardware device failed".
No way of launching orbiter with full resolution of my monitor (2560x1440).
I'm using 2 HD6870 in crossfire.
Orbiter launches normally if I downgrade to 1920x1080.
Is there any solution?

Thank you very much!
Max

The Direct3D 7 / inline graphics client doesn't support screen resolutions with dimensions larger than 2054 pixels. That's limitation of DirectX 7.

To use bigger screen resolutions (with dimensions larger than 2054 pixels) you need to use an external graphics client higher than D3D7, e.g. D3D9Client, OGLA, D3D11Client.

Hi,
thank you for your reply.
I managed to launch Orbiter using D3D11 client (I have DX11 installed). I had to install update 111105 beta in order to use it.
Unfortunately though, update 111105 beta is not compatible with AMSO...
So what? I have to choose between having full resolution or AMSO?
:(
