That's because Orbiter manual is for Orbiter only, without any addons installed. For the emu, you would have had to read Thorton's ISS manual. There is information on grappling, etc.

Or the shuttle fleet manual or if it's SSU the real life checklists.

Orbiter.PDF gives you the basics then the addon gives you specifics for that addons. Yes, you need to use them together.

This is one reason I tend to use my own checklists as I'm mixing and matching addons, sometimes not in the way the authors envisaged.... :lol:

where does OTD and STRELA1 go on the space station? i managed to get my eum attached to the apfr but thats as far as i have gotten as of yet.

Both OTD and STRELA1 are attached to the PMA connecting Unity to Zarya. I think it's on the zenith side. But if you are going to use the APFR, did you attach it to the robot arm?

i tried to attach it to the shuttles arm yes. but nothing happend. i was able to attach my emu to the apfr. and got the apfr to move but nothing after that

You should start by just moving the emu, without the apfr; it's simpler. I never tryed to attach the apfr to the arm, so I can't help you with that, I just translate the emu around.

oh ok. well how do i grab the otd or strela1? cause i tried with the emu and nothing happens

First, you must switch focus to either ISS or ShuttleBay and press 'Home' key. It will show the attachment points on every item in the bay. Then, you must get the emu's right hand above one of these points (a red one, on eithe otd or strela). You should raise the emu's arm with 1 key. when it is right above one point, press Q. The emu should grab it (either otd or strela). Then, move the emu to the PMA, and place de end of what you grabbed right above one of the two attachment points on it. After that, you release it from the emu (press Q again) and attach it to the station.

i got it!!! it was able to grab strela 1

I did some ''research'' on Orbiter, the Strela should be attached on the starboard side of the station, although it can be attached on either side.

No, they must be attached to the PMA. The strela should go to the starboard side (red arrow) the otd to the port side (blue arrow).

The APFR doesn't need to be attached to the station. It is only used for the EVA, to be attached to the arm and get the astronauts to where they need to be to perform the tasks. On the mission you are flying, there is no attachment point for the apfr on the station, so you either return it to earth on the shuttle, or leave it in space.

hey diogom. i need to correct you as to where the strela1 goes. it goes on the port side of the pma. and otd goes to startboard sir.

:lol: no worries. juyst a slight correction. but i was able to get it attachted to the station. but what is the giant attachtment point towars the back of the shuttle? cause i know the space hab doesn't go. and the afpr don't go. but what about that other structor?

i have 2 blue arrows on the pma. i thought 1 was red and 1 was blue?

Well, about the giant attachment behind the shuttle, I think it's some kind of a bug that the 3.2 version has, because it didn't appear on the Orbiter 2006P1 version. The other structure is the ICC (Integrated Cargo Carrier), if you are refering to the structure where the otd and strela were attached on the shuttle. It is just used to attach the cargo to it on it's journey to the ISS.
The arrows weren't from the actual scenario, I made them in paint just to locate the attachment points. Now that I think of it, it would probably have been easyer if had took the screenshot with the arrows.
Anyway, congratulations on attaching them, for me it took some days until I figured out how to do it, and it was not until 2 months ago I realised I was doing it the wrong way :lol:.

:lol: yeah i thought i had it but when i went in the shuttle for dinner it was gone when i cam back out. so i didn't do something right.
