I've been busy so far with trips to the moon, Mars, and a little space station construction. Now I feel its time for a Grand Voyage to Jupiter space to explore its moons. Can you recommend a good addon vessel for doing this? I'd like it to be somewhat realistic (no warp drives etc), and be able to carry landers and automated probes. I've been looking at the Descarte but if you have any other suggestions please let me know!

What about the arrow? Take a DGIV or an XR2 in the payload bay and have UCGO probes attached around the cargo area near the 'neck' of the ship.

Another option is deepstar. You could use UCD to attach things like probes to it.

I kind of like this one, I once used it to push an entire Celestium station into Jupiter orbit.

Also, the newly updated Orion is very nice.

I would seriously recomend the longshot and the hius... You also have the bullet and the arrow.

The hius is dealt cool but when trying to slowdown from high speeds it can be short of impossible.

The arrow is superfictional use it when you are making a starwars flight.

I love the longshot but it has stability issues when trying to aerobrake.

The bullet is cool but it uses antimatter so...

I'm trying to use DeepStar2.0 now, and it seems nice. At least I can dock craft to it easily. But when I try to use the lander I can't seem to get any thrust, the RCS is stuck in OFF, and when I press numpad+ for the main engine, I can see the display change to show Main Eng at 100%, but no fuel is consumed and the lander doesn't move (no gfx of engine either). There is fuel, according to the display and when I edit the ship in the scenario editor.. Any ideas?
