Iron Hill Project Thread

No body is there... The session name is " #Iron_Hill "...

We have the liftoff! The Chronus is around the Earth, waiting for the chance to dock with the Odyssey spacecraft.

I am happy to announce that RickD and I returned safely to Earth aboard Chronus at about 01:45 UTC today, after delivering six new Arrow Freighter engines (okay, they are UCGO base modules, but they each weigh about the same as an SSME:P) and Felipi1205 and Mojoey to the Odyssey.

Congratulations to everyone involved on the success of our baptism of fire:cheers:
Pipcard, I'd like you to start a thread (you might have to clear this with the mods first) entitled "Iron Hill Updates" for posting press releases. For the first one, I'd like you to interview us, and tell Orbinauts what the Iron Hill Project is all about. Ask any pertinent questions you like:)

Again, amazing job, everyone! We got off to a bumpy start, but I could not possibly have asked any better of you guys!

Here are the files: the updated Iron Hill Project scenario file, and the recording of this evening's mission. This is how we do it from now on.

Next up is Mojoey, who will enter the lunar course into the computer tomorrow, and then Felipi1205, who will perform the launch. Good luck guys:)

got it! I will need to know where you hid the cupcake mix...can't find it in the Kitchen on the Arrow

Wait. Flight, we're no-go atm.

do you mind if I delete the XR-5 and add it later? or merge the landed .scn from Tmac, with this one after the LTMFD setup is complete?

Thats fine.

IMPORTANT: After downloading the recording file, you need to put it in your playback folder and rename it "The Iron Hill Project.scn". Otherwise Orbiter will think its just a regular scenario and you won't see the recording.

I figured it out. You just need to d/l the XR5 UCGO cargo platform from O-H;)

Then you should be able to proceed with no problems:)

Odyssey, Houston. That was our bad. We should have told about that one;)

Yeah, someone needs to fire the ground crew...those SLS holdovers aren't up to snuff :P

We'll have those numbers sent on the next telemetry batch, I've poked Felipi with a stick, and he's fast asleep...

And do not forget to UPDATE THE CLOCK before you do anything, Odyssey.
Go to Scenario editor, hit Date and then Now. Don't even start recording until you do this;)

DOUBLE FACEPALM...one moment as we reset the MFDs and try this again
there, sadly will be no recording, for some reason my framerate drops into the toilet, so a play by blay will be right....here
NOTE: Time is really screwy, i dont know why, but if you feel the need to fix it thats fine.
Closed the Docking bay doors.
turned on MFD1 and MFD2, aswell as ESPN ;)
Selected AlignplaneMFD (this was not done)
Selected LTMFD
first burn was orbit + at the descending node
Second was at the ascending node, with small bursts of the retro engines
Tuned LTMFD to tgt the moon
all Felipi needs to do is hit EXE and go

Here I am, ready to go! You can send me the LTMFD informations, and I'll use the IMFD for help me too...

Oh, and make sure to turn prograde again its still Orbit+

I have the control of the Odyssey houston. In some hours the Odyssey will have the LOI...

I think I'll have the LOI in the next orbit... I could do it in some minutes, but I need to wait for TMac3000 and for mojoey in the chat...

Oh dear, I was afraid of this...you guys didn't download the state file I posted...there is no cargo on the Odyssey:facepalm:

Please download the attachment above: "Iron Hill Project.scn". Open that file in Orbiter, update the clock, start the recording and then proceed with the mission. I won't be in chat, but I will be monitoring things from here. Tell me when you are ready...

If you do it right, there should be six cargos on the Odyssey...

770 seconds to the TLI, and here we go, in the first mission of the Iron Hill Project...

Houston, we're going to the Moon!!

Good job, guys! Now please double check the cargo manifest, and tell me how many cargos there are. The file has two views, so I'm guessing you guys downloaded it this time.

Remember to update the scenario file, create the recording and post both before signing off for the day.
