Is it possible to consolidate a space station into a single vehicle?

I've built a station in LEO over the past few months using ENERGIA and Ariane lifters. Currently the station consists of nearly twenty different modules, trusses, radiators, solar collectors, etcetera. Any use of timewarp while I'm in the station scenario, but focussed on , say, a DGIV in the outer planets, results in a shattering of the station components across the orbit.

How do I, or is it even possible, to consolidate a many segment station into one spaceship?

As long as they're docked together or attached, they should remain together for trips like that. As far as merging them into a single vessel, it's impossible (though there have been valiant attempts).
