Is there any out of the box design style?

I have noticed that most of fictional/realistic designs in Orbiter are:
1.Apollo shaped LM/CM
2.Delta Glider variations.

The most exotic design I saw was TTM24.

I wonder if there is any other way to depart from mainstream design.
During WWII you could see many different design trends in german planes. I bet the same could be valid for spacecraft.

Oh, I love argument from ignorance...

Soyuz/Shenzou?
Space Shuttle/Buran? (which is sure not a Delta Glider variation)
Dynasoar (which is more the mother of all DGs
OTV?
Discovery/DSV/Vespucci?
MEM?
Mars Direct?
TKS/Merkur?
...

If you wanted to show, that you have not gathered enough samples to make a classification of the Orbiter add-ons, you are right. ;)

I mean fictional...
I have developed and therefore I have had limited experience with flight.
I have so many files that I have not tested them all.
Therefore my ignorance.

More fictional as Vespucci or Discovery?

Or less fictional as the Shuttle A?

And what about the Intrepid?

Although this is flagrant self-promotion, I'd say these addons from my co-developer n0mad23 would classify as "out of the box" in the "fictional/realistic" category:

There is a huge variety in the "fictional/realistic" addon vessels available for Orbiter. The range available does depend on how you define the "realistic" part of the "fictional/realistic" category. To me, a momentum exchange tether such as Ananke (linked above) is more realistic than the DeltaGlider, but I could be accused of bias in this regard.

Form follows function. My lunar transfer vehicle had to meet certain requirements, so while the details may vary, it was going to look pretty much the way it does no matter what.

I believe there is nothing wrong with posting about your addons, for tether-sling seems a great out of the box addon.

Here, some out of the box planes

I've had a few designs, but some limitations with SC3 (not knocking it, just stating fact) kept me from bringing them to fruition.

Mars Direct would be really great! I was thinking about a small 20 foot rocket, one person in the top. Or a big starship. With Bussard ramjets and nuclear pulse propulsion! Bwahaha!

I cant' imagine what you mean by out of the box. Other then capsules and spaceplane, what would work? I guess any shape would work after you leave the atmosphere of a planet, but reentry and launch are the most exciting parts IMO.

Actually, flying saucers would work. Seriously, there were designs for lenticular spacecraft. See here:

Oh! How about some orbital tug, like the Dragonfly? That was ingenious. Maybe someone could figure one out that can change its orbit drastically? How about something that looked like an average Delta rocket nose on launch, but split open its fairing in orbit to expose a couple of arms for gravity?
